Hi I’m Scott, lover of all pets!

My wife and I have had at least 1 canine companion consistently for the past 20 years and as recently as last year had three in the home. I was also unfortunately the recipient of 2 spinal surgeries and walking my dogs was the motivation I needed to get myself moving again afterward.

I have worked in the food industry the last 4 years but have always been interested in cooking, whether that be in the kitchen or on the grill.

My current 2 dogs, Peanut (9) and Bowie (8), have been with us since 2016 and 2018. Peanut, found in a dumpster in Georgia as a 10 week old puppy with a chemical burn down her back, was a huge driving force in getting myself back in walking shape, many years after those surgeries. She was so active and playful that we eventually decided to adopt a friend for her.

Bowie was that friend, a dog rehomed multiple times, though we still can’t figure out why. He was the perfect balance for her. He would play just enough with her while influencing her to sit and be calm after. They became the best of friends and are now inseparable.

Trying to keep them healthy was my top priority. I was shocked when I started to hear how bad many commercial pet foods and treats were for our pets. But it made sense, we had been feeding our two according to the feeding guide on most kibble bags. Food was measured and treats were given in recommended amounts and yet we had two severely overweight dogs each reaching over 100 pounds. This is what made me start to research dog nutrition and begin trying to come up with recipes for treats and food for my dogs using natural whole food ingredients.
